Platt Bridge Morris Dancers were formed in 1970 by our current troupe principle, Maureen Haigh.
We are based in Wigan and although most of the girls do come from Wigan and the surrounding areas, we do have dancers who travel from as far as St Helens, Preston, Bamber Bridge, Nantwich & Manchester.
The ages of the girls range from "as soon as they can walk" to forty somethings.
Firstly of all we have the babies, secondly the dinkies, next we have the tinies, then the juniors, followed by the Seniors and last, but by no means least, the infamous chickens!!!!
Every Wednesday all of the girls meet up for their practise night at Platt Bridge Labour club.
